Located on the cusp of Naikoon Provincial Rainforest Park, and across the road from the infamous North Beach, as well as the nearby dual river beach estuary, you are poised for the classic Haida Gwaii cabin experience.
Experience the adventure of vacationing on North beach, affording you a chance to connect with the unique spirit of Haida Gwaii.
Kingfisher cabins property is located on the banks of the Chown river, home to a fall run of coho salmon, and plethora of woodland birds such as kingfishers, song sparrows, thrushes, etc., and wildlife such as Whitetail deer, who visit the grounds regularly to forage.
Across the highway is a trail through June-bearing wild strawberry fields to a panorama of sandy beach, and a short walk will take you to the dual estuary of the Sangan and Chown rivers, with their runs of trout and salmon.
Toni Smith has lived on Haida Gwaii since 1972, and worked as a commercial salmon fisher for 8 years, entering the visitor cabin business in 1995. She has happily seen the islands change from resource extraction to resource appreciation. She feels connected to the land and is happy to operate a business that is tied to the land and the ocean. Toni enjoys, “reconnecting people from all over the world with the beauty and bounty of nature so they will stand up to protect her.”
